About thirty years ago, a criminal gang - dubbed “The Wallingford Five” - specialized in brazen bank and jewelry store robberies and burglaries across New England. For years, they were able to elude authorities. You and your task force members have investigated every crime scene and pursued every lead, without success…until now. You have just received an unexpected break in the case, allowing you to pinpoint the gang’s hideout. You will need to scrutinize, think and communicate with one another expeditiously, as you have a one-hour deadline to identify the culprits before they make good on their getaway. Oh, and one other thing -- solve a murder in the process.

(Due to difficulty level, we recommend you having previously experienced our original room The Wallingford Five, or previously played another “escape room”) In the late ‘60s and early ‘70s, a madman dubbed “The Zodiac” terrorized the San Francisco area, leaving taunting notes and coded messages for investigators and the press. To this day, he remains unidentified. Now Connecticut is experiencing a string of disappearances; someone is leaving similarly coded messages and clues for baffled authorities. The media has named this person “Son of the Zodiac”, and the governor has issued a $100,000 reward for information leading to his identification. You are taking an investigative journalism class at a local college. Several classmates and you agree to take on the challenge of finding the culprit, hoping to collect the reward. Having compiled a list of the disappearance locations, your team has been secretly watching these remote sites, hoping the perpetrator will “return to the scene of the crime”. After comparing notes, you have a prime suspect. Now that you know where he lives, you need to gather enough evidence to prove you deserve the reward. After bribing the landlord, she agrees to alert you when the suspect leaves and to unlock his apartment door. You will need to act quickly: even though two classmates are following him, the WI-FI in the building is spotty and the suspect’s routine unpredictable. (While the theme of this room is menacing, there are no “scares”: no one jumps out at you, no strobe lights, no loud noises)

You and your team of CIA operatives are stationed at a safehouse in Seychelles, Africa. For years, intelligence agencies have been trying to identify a shadowy figure known only as Maître D'échecs, or “The Chess Master”, who is rumored to be a shady arms dealer posing as an importer/exporter. Claire, the mistress of Maître D'échecs, has just been captured and interrogators have learned three important facts: He possesses a thumb drive containing the identities and locations of several high-ranking terrorists. The thumb drive is concealed in his office and will not be easy to find. A Seychelles SWAT team will arrive to secure his office as soon as Maître D'échecs discovers his mistress has disappeared. Your mission: locate and remove the thumb drive, then escape before the Seychelles SWAT team arrives.
