Your ticket purchase will take you through the prison’s dark halls and into a section of the facility that confined some of the most depraved inmates ever hidden from the public. There will be games, live entertainment, music, a costume contest, raffles, refreshments, dancing & of course the prison itself! Costumes are encouraged! For the braver souls, a VIP ticket package will be available to you, if you dare! Bring a change of clothes (if you wear a costume to the party), ghost hunting equipment, flashlights, and cameras nerves of steel! Be prepared to be locked in the Penitentiary with the spirits of the most evil inmates. After the main party, enjoy the investigation while doing time in select portions of the prison. If you choose to remain in a costume for the investigation, you must wear costumes that are not restricting to movement, no heels, and no trip hazards. The North Walk will take you through the oldest part of the former West Virginia Penitentiary. • It is also known as the area with the most paranormal activity, a place where murders, violence and brutality were common everyday occurrences. This was where the most dangerous inmates were housed, the maximum security area, North Hall; the inmates called it – The Alamo. • You will enter this part of the prison through the “Administration Building” and the “wheel” – these areas have been closed to the public for years and only opened for the Haunted House season. The North Walk is NOT an attraction, but a flashlight tour of an area that was once considered one of the bloodiest institutions in the nation. If you are planning on attending the Dungeon of Horrors the same night, you MUST schedule to do the North Walk first. Duration Groups go every 20 minutes! It will take you at least 45 minutes to get through this guided tour.

Escape the Pen: The Execution Rates • People $25 • Private Game $200 Duration 1 hours and 30 minutes • In a surprising move, the Governor of West Virginia has ordered a one hour stay of execution for an inmate at the West Virginia State Penitentiary. Inmate Lefty Lafferty was scheduled to be put to death today, but in a bizarre turn of events the Governor halted the electric chair execution due to new information that was received just hours ago. Details are not available, but a source close to the administration has said that a special investigative team is being dispatched to the Penitentiary. The Governor received an anonymous tip, rumored to have been sent via fax that listed details about the crime Lefty is being charged with – our source indicated that there are details included that no one could have known. After brief consideration the execution has been halted for one hour.

Introducing West Virginia Penitentiary's Photography Tour! Rates • People $100 Duration 4 hours About • This is not a guided tour, you will be roaming at your own pace and leisure. • The gate will be opened approximately 15 minutes prior to the tour time for check-in. • Each photographer is responsible for their own equipment, and is required to sign a waiver/agreement upon check-in. • You do not have to be a photographer to take advantage of this tour! We welcome painters, artists, or anyone that wants to explore the facility in the daytime at their own pace! June, July, and August you will be sharing the facility with tour groups. We ask that you refrain from blocking doors and pathways, and keep the floor clear of equipment that may cause a hazard to guests. During these months, tour groups do visit the exact same areas as the Photography Tours are permitted to visit. The difference being, Photography Tour attendees are able to independently spend as much time in any certain area as they wish and do not stay with a group.
